1. Overview

ClawMe ("we", "us") is an open-source browser extension and service that bridges AI Agents and users. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data ClawMe collects, how it is used, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Extension (Browser)

Backend URL and Token: Stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device. Never transmitted to us.
Instructions: Fetched from your configured backend server. Instructions are between your AI Agent and your browser — we do not see or store them.
Execution logs: Stored locally in your browser. Not sent anywhere.

2.2 Backend Server

Instructions: Stored in memory only. No database. Instructions are automatically cleared when the server restarts.
Tokens: Used for authentication. Configured by the server operator (you).
No user accounts: ClawMe does not require registration or personal information.

2.3 Website (clawme.net)

The website is static and does not collect any personal data.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

No personal information (name, email, phone)
No browsing history
No page content (unless you explicitly use the "extract" instruction)
No analytics or telemetry
No third-party tracking

4. How Data Is Used

All data stays between your AI Agent, your self-hosted backend, and your browser. ClawMe acts as a relay — it does not analyze, monetize, or share any data.

5. Self-Hosted Architecture

ClawMe is designed to be self-hosted. You run your own backend server, which means:

Your instructions never pass through our servers
You control all data

6. Permissions Explained

storage	Save your backend URL and token locally
scripting	Execute instructions (fill forms, click elements, extract content) on web pages — only when you click "Execute"
sidePanel	Show the ClawMe side panel UI
alarms	Periodic polling for new instructions from your backend
notifications	Desktop notifications when new instructions arrive
tabs	Open new tabs and navigate for instruction execution

7. Third-Party Services

ClawMe does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services.

8. Children's Privacy

ClawMe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
